Jon D. Willis is a 6th Generation Arizonan and is the Designated Broker of Willis Property Company in Mesa, Arizona and Executive Vice President of Legacy Sports USA. Mr. Willis began his commercial real estate brokerage and development career in 1999 as a senior in high school specializing in land sales but eventually branched out to all commercial specialties. His company, Willis Property Company has brokered and developed more than $1.5 billion worth of commercial real estate and has assisted in the planning, engineering and development of over 2 dozen master-planned communities (+/- 30,000 residential lots) in the Phoenix Metro Area. In 2011 Mr. Willis began representing Sorenson Group Management, a multi-billion dollar corporation based in Salt Lake City, in the disposition of their $701 million structured portfolio purchase from the FDIC. This portfolio was one the largest listing portfolios in the state of Arizona with over 400 properties to which Mr. Willis sold and leased personally. His company has represented and partnered with several large real estate investments groups around the country including the Walt Disney Family Trust. Mr. Willis is currently developing a 374 Acre, $146 million, family sports and entertainment complex in Phoenix, AZ called Legacy Sports Park. When finished, it will be the second largest privately-owned sports and entertainment facility in the United States. The park will included a 500,000 SF indoor basketball/volleyball/eSports building with 18 courts and a 12,000 seat arena; 23 soccer fields with a 10,000 seat stadium; 14 baseball/softball fields with a 10,000 seat baseball stadium; 36 pickleball courts as well as several more sport venues. Mr. Willis was instrumental in development as well as obtaining the equity and construction financing for the Park. He and his partners are in the process of developing an additional 5-8 sports parks throughout the United States including states like Texas, Colorado, Utah and Nevada as well as Dubai and Australia.
Mr. Willis has been recognized as one of the top real estate instructors in the State of Arizona. He currently teaches at the Arizona School of Real Estate & Business in Scottsdale, AZ where he has been teaching the commercial real estate continuing education curriculum and the new licensing courses since 2009. He was the youngest instructor in the school’s 45-year history and was awarded Arizona Instructor of the Year in 2014. He has been a keynote speaker at Arizona State University’s WP Carey School of Business for real estate development on several occasions. Mr. Willis has been active politically in fundraising for many local, state and national elections, most recently with the Trump Presidential Campaign.
Mr. Willis resides in Mesa, Arizona with his wife Angela and three children Chloe, Jackson and Lily.
