Greetings from Steel Valley! Hard to believe we’re halfway through the Spring 2016 semester already! This semester started off a little slow, but we are bigger and better than ever! Youngstown State University chapter had their first big member meeting in February and it was much better than I expected, coming from a very liberal school. These Penguins are fired up and ready to take back their country! We discussed our upcoming statewide conference in April and cool ways to get our voice out there. The activists have been working hard on events, tabling ideas, and getting people involved in our movement. In fact, one of my newer activists grabbed two Students for Uber sheets from me one day and got our entire food court to sign up in 15 minutes! They are also in the works of getting Greek Life to collaborate with us, in particular, the brotherhood of President Ronald Reagan! I couldn’t be more proud of them working hard to fight the good fight!
Students at Youngstown State University are realizing just how important it is to pay attention to what will soon affect them, if not already! We’re not just the table with the fashionable yellow scarves anymore. We’ve had professors, janitors, football players, & faculty approach our table just to thank us for being so brave and take buttons to show their children or grandchildren.
Ohio is a very important state during election year, so we are hitting the ground hard! We’ve doubled our voter registration since the first week of the semester and became the tough “Big Government Sucks” table practically overnight! Youngstown may be blue and Ohio may be purple, but soon enough, they will both be engraved with the truth that limited government is the way to be!
