It’s apology hour on ABC’s “The View.” If you haven’t heard the news, here’s what you missed:
Whoopi Goldberg, and her fellow partisan actors created a big problem for themselves on Monday. They made several false and slanderous statements about Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit.
After a group of (supposed) neo-Nazis showed up outside TPUSA’s Student Action Summit at the Tampa Bay Convention Center with Nazi flags, the liberals on the View tied this vile behavior to TPUSA.
Later on the program, “The View” read an on-air legal disclaimer to inform viewers that Turning Point USA condemned the neo-Nazis protestors who have no relation to TPUSA’s organization or event. However, Whoopi doubled down, saying, “[Turning Point] let them in, and knew what they were, so you’re complicit.”
The plot thickens. The talk show hosts were then forced to make ANOTHER statement saying explaining that the faux-Nazis were “outside protestors” and TPUSA in fact did not let them in. “My point was metaphorical,” Goldberg said.
After these comments, TPUSA sprung into action, sending a scathing cease and desist to ABC News on Tuesday, calling for the Disney-owned company to retract the defamatory statements.
TPUSA also issued a blanket statement concerning the event and protesters, “Turning Point 100% condemns those ideologies in the strongest of terms.” The full statement can be found below:
Thereafter, on Wednesday, the View issued a lengthy apology in attempt to protect themselves from a lawsuit.
Legally speaking, Turning Point could still file a civil lawsuit for slander and could potentially win a significant monetary amount for the damage produced by the statements. The talk show hosts took two days to apologize, causing what could be irreparable harm to the students in attendance of the event.
As a person of Jewish faith and a Turning Point contributor, this apology means nothing to me. I find it disgusting and reprehensible to be slandered as a Nazi. Millions of my people died in the holocaust needlessly and violently at the hands of Nazis. I didn’t hear an apology to us.
As someone who was in attendance and saw these protestors, it was clear to see what was happening. These Nazi protestors were trying to create a false narrative intended to harm us, “The View” took the bait, but we will not back down.
