David K. Clements, a Business Law professor at New Mexico State University, released a video response to a mass email sent out by the University’s President John D. Floros.
Floros’ email was in response to what happened at the Capitol on January 6th of this year. In a “holier-than-thou” description, Floros described the storm of the capitol in a way that placed 75 million Americans in the same derogatory light. Of course, this event has absolutely nothing to do with the university. Yet, the top administrator felt the need to speak for all of the faculty (which nobody asked for) and thus sent an email explaining “what happened” in his biased description, as if: we are a one-party state, the faculty cannot speak for themselves, and Trump supporters are enemies who have infiltrated the nation and cannot think for themselves.
Let me make some things very clear: 75 MILLION Americans wanted Donald Trump. Likely many more as there have been witness testimonies to ballots being discarded, burned, thrown out, and switched, which were legal ballots for Trump. For many Trump supporters, he represented/represents FREEDOM’s values and all that it takes to preserve them. Many say that President Trump, while in office, kept every single promise he made to us. Our economy was the greatest it has ever been. Our country gained millions of jobs under his leadership. President Trump worked toward peace, and we never entered a war in the four years that he was President. President Trump was the only consistent leader in Washington, and we never doubted him or his real purpose to “Make America Great Again.” He worked through the night while we were safely asleep in bed. He put America first every single day. He fought for us like nobody ever has before–and he did it for free.
It is a fact that millions of more Americans supported for him the second time. He single-handedly broadened the Conservative base and brought many more people into the Conservative community.
The mainstream media, academia/professors and administrators, elites, and celebrities can all stop pretending that President Trump was a/is a terrible person/leader or that there were only ten people who supported for Donald Trump.
In the past four years, we have learned about how the media shapes the news. American parents and other concerned leaders, figure-heads, and other concerned Americans talk about the inappropriate and unprofessional indoctrination of students on a day-to-day basis. Still, we never address administrative bodies laying a blanket of ideology and political views over teachers, professors, and students, suffocating them all to conform to the leftist agenda. The reality is that many people feel afraid that they may lose their job or be branded racist or some other God-awful name just because they came to their conclusion about President Donald J. Trump and the 2016 and 2020 elections.
In this video, Professor Clements deconstructs the email sent in segments, breaking down the blatant hypocrisy line by line. He is right on all of it. Where was John Flores when our American cities were burning, businesses were looted, and people were physically attacked this year?
I did not hear anything BUT justification by the left while BLM/Antifa was looting, physically hurting people, and burning down America for months. Nothing. But now, all of a sudden, in an isolated crime involving a small number of people, the designated enemies of the state are all Trump supporters.
Four years ago, actress Kathy Griffin held up a severed mock head of President Trump. Three years ago, Congresswoman Maxine Waters shouted to a crowd via a microphone, “If you see anybody from the Trump Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out, and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.” Singer/songwriter/actress Madonna said, “I often think a lot about blowing up the White House.” Actor Jonny Depp insinuated that an Assassination of the current President would be good. CNN Anchor Chris Cuomo said, “Show me where it says protests are supposed to be peaceful,” as well as countless mainstream media talking heads.
Did the President of New Mexico State, John Flores, send an email out denouncing any of this? According to Professor Clements, he did not.
In today’s heated political climate, which overwhelmingly and increasingly is painting Trump supporters as scum, racist, and needing to be re-programmed (according to journalist Katie Couric), it took a lot of nerve and boldness for Professor Clements to stand against his University’s Professor and post his video response.
What is even scarier, though, is that we are at a place in the United States of America where he HAS to fear losing his job, just for speaking his mind and casting his legal vote based on his conscience and his individual decision.
This culture of rejecting and objecting to another citizen’s opinion or vote is un-American and unacceptable. Professor Clements could not be more correct.
President Trump called for a peaceful demonstration. The individuals who made the poor decision to break into the U.S. State Capital building and do damage and harm bear personal responsibility for the crimes committed, just as the thousands of individuals who vandalized, ransacked, stole, burned, and graffiti-ed American cities, buildings, statued—as well as harmed individuals, including law enforcement personnel, should be held accountable for their crimes and poor decisions.
Academia needs to stop using their jobs to force their political views over a body of people. The American people are awake, and they see the hypocrisy. Don’t discredit yourself as an educator.
Mackenzie Angelo, TPUSA campus activist, said this when asked for a comment on the circumstances:
“After watching the video of Professor Clements it gave me hope for all the students at NMSU, who happen to hold more conservative values, that our voice actually has a chance to be heard. The most isolating thing on campus is to feel like you are the only one who has conservative views, so to have a professor stand up for freedom of thought and speech at NMSU is sending a signal to other students that it’s ok to be yourself and to hold these same beliefs. If we had more professors like Professor Clements, providing a different opinion and viewpoint, I believe we would have a more well balanced campus that supports all Free Speech, not just ideas and organization that the Administration deems worthy of promoting. I hope more professors follow in Professor Clement’s footsteps, because all students AND faculty members deserve the right to express their viewpoints with the same respect and platform as any liberal or left-leaning professors.”
The Constitutional right to free speech and to have a difference of opinion is under attack in our country, and we should all have the guts to speak out against it, like Professor Clements. Well done, sir.
