Regardless of how you feel about a belief, it deserves to be heard.
The left doesn’t feel this way. When facing adversity during any debate, leftists tend to resort to their default position: canceling. Canceling can take many forms yet always stems from the same goal. Leftists strive to get you de-platformed or, in some cases, even fired.
You may have heard of something being commonly referred to as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. But that slogan couldn’t be further from the truth. This bill actually never mentions the word “gay.” It solely refers to getting comprehensive sex and gender education curriculums out of Florida’s elementary schools.
As Governor DeSantis and his Press Secretary Christina Pushaw fight for the truth, they’ve faced constant attempts of ‘canceling.’ Moreover, in a recent Tweet, Pushaw describes that progressive activists and politicians have recently attempted to “deplatform” her and even “call on Gov. DeSantis to fire [her].”
My question to leftists is this. Why do you believe that 4-8 year-olds have the intellect to properly determine their sexual identity at an incredibly young age? But more important than that, why are you quick to call out the people who oppose this lie rather than the bill itself?
People should not have to turn to end one’s career and livelihood over a disagreement. Furthermore, in order to achieve actual positive social change, you’d expect that leftists would come to conversations with a goal of understanding in contrast to prejudice.
