Athletes have always used their platform to share their beliefs, ideas and build their brand. Some use that for good. Others, as we’ve seen especially over the past few years with a lot of woke social justice nonsense and divisive rhetoric throughout the pandemic, have used it to push a very “anti-America” narrative.
One player that has been unfiltered and unashamed about his love and appreciation for America has been Boston Celtics Center, Enes Kanter, who now goes by Enes Kanter Freedom. Most importantly, the Turkish-born freedom fighter just became a US citizen.
Over this entire NBA season, Kanter has called out China directly, as well as Nike, and LeBron James, for not only their silence on the atrocities of the CCP but blatantly supporting them and cashing checks during it all.
He is a player that understands the privilege and blessing of being able to play a kid’s game and make millions of dollars for his skill set without bowing down to the CCP. About time a player has the courage to say this.
Keep fighting the good fight, Enes. We’re happy you’re a part of the greatest country on earth!
