Several major retailers are rolling out discounted Thanksgiving dinner bundles to help customers cope with holiday costs amid ongoing inflation, according to a report by Fox News. Chains such as Aldi, Walmart, Sam’s Club, BJ’s Wholesale Club, and Target have announced special offers aimed at reducing expenses for holiday meals.

Target is offering a Thanksgiving dinner bundle for four people at a price of $20—$5 cheaper than last year’s price. The bundle includes a variety of items such as a frozen basted turkey, potatoes, mushroom soup, green beans, stuffing, and more.

Aldi has also introduced a Thanksgiving shopping list priced at its lowest in five years. Aldi CEO Jason Hart emphasized the company’s commitment to affordability, stating that the company is “focused on finding ways to deliver the lowest possible prices for our customers – and this Thanksgiving is no different.”

“We worked hard this Thanksgiving to deliver the best value and quality products, so everyone can enjoy a traditional meal with family and friends without having to scale back,” Hart added.

Meanwhile, Walmart is promoting what it calls an “inflation-free Thanksgiving meal,” with costs averaging $7 per person.

“This year’s meal features 29 items and serves eight people for less than $7 per person,” Walmart noted in a press release.

The efforts come as American consumers continue to grapple with the effects of inflation, which have been especially challenging during holiday periods. Last year, social media highlighted this trend when users compared the current prices of everyday goods to those seen in the 1990 film Home Alone. An analysis revealed that goods bought for $19.83 in the movie would have cost $72.28 in 2023, illustrating how inflation has impacted household budgets.
