Since being founded by Jason Miller, former Trump advisor, GETTR has become one of the fastest-growing social media networks of all time. The name was inspired by the words “getting together,” and the platform has already attracted millions of users.

So, what do you need to know about this new platform, and is it worth creating a profile?

According to Politico, who covered GETTR’s launch in July, the platform self-identifies as a “‘non-bias social network for people all over the world.’ The app is rated “M” for mature, meaning it is recommended for users 17 and older… Posts will be 777 characters long, the app will host videos up to three minutes in length, and will also be capable of hosting live streams, the person working on the app said. Headquarters for the app are located in New York.”

created a profile recently and already have enjoyed using the platform as an alternative to Twitter–I have more characters to work with, less partisan censorship to consider when drafting a post, and I see more interaction between posts than expected for a relatively new platform.

So–is it worth it to jump over? Absolutely. I plan on spending lots of time on GETTR this year and will be posting exclusive content to the platform every single day! You can follow me @theisabelbrown!
