Over the weekend, President Biden joined “60 Minutes” for his first sit-down interview in over 260 days. No surprise, it was full of gaffes and cringe-worthy moments, but perhaps the most significant was when the President declared that the pandemic is “over.”

Take a listen:

You would think that the announcement jeopardizes President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, which was enacted under the guise of an “emergency” due to the pandemic. President justified the one-time, $20,000 loan forgiveness policy under the HEROES Act of 2003, which gives the Education Secretary the ability to waive or modify student-loan balances in connection with a national emergency. If there is no pandemic, there is no emergency, and therefore no compelling justification to forgive student loan debt.

Of course, Dr. Fauci is immediately trying to walk back what the President said, claiming that “we are not where we need to be.” He and many other bureaucrats know that if the pandemic is officially over, they have no grounds to continue to act under emergency order, and once big government grabs power, it is very rare for them to relinquish it back to the people.

“But we are not where we need to be if we’re going to be able to, quote, ‘live with the virus,’ because we know we’re not going to eradicate it.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci — The Hill

In a sane society, we would require that all of the gender studies, feminist, safe-space sociology majors who pay $90,000 per year to get their indoctrination from a liberal arts college, to pay back their loans, and live with the consequences of their choices as adults should. However, as I feel we have proven many times, we do not live in a sane society, and now the person who chose to op-out of college all together will pay for the blue-hair leftist who can’t afford to repay their loans because they pursued a degree in underwater basket weaving.

Worst of all, they will have to cover the cost of college for other people who made poor life decisions under a false premise of the COVID-19 pandemic emergency — that according to President Biden, is over.
