It’s unfortunate that we’ve come to a place where we can’t criticize anyone without said person bringing up their identity. While we don’t agree on a lot, I do feel bad for Sarah Silverman because she actually left honest criticism of Joy Reid, but of course, Joy spun it around and called her “racist” for critiquing a black woman.

As seen in this video, Sarah elaborates that the last thing she is is racist. She goes on to say, “I didn’t criticize Joy Reid because she’s black, I criticized her for being a Harvard educated journalist with the responsibility to show the whole picture.” Sarah is right. We ALL should be able to criticize someone without crying racism. It’s 2022 (Happy New Year!), and all Sarah told Joy to do was make sure she reads FULL articles.

What’s great about this is that we are starting to see the inklings of identity politics crumble right in front of us. Some people on the left are starting to see that identity politics is more divisive than they may think, and it’s gotten to the point where people bring up their identity at any chance they get. It should be encouraged to critique one another. Now more than ever, people are looking for the truth, but it’s becoming so hard to find.

Joy Reid is hiding behind her race. When it gets to the point where someone can’t stand on their ideals but instead depends on their race to protect them from any critiques, it is the second they begin to fall. People are starting to see through this veil of “wokeness” and even liberals have had enough. It goes to show that liberals truly are leaving the left.
