Judge Timothy Daniel Japhet was arrested this month for smuggling migrants and resisting arrest. To make matters worse, it has recently been revealed that Japhet is also a federally-appointed immigration magistrate. Additionally, the Texas Bar’s website still lists him as “eligible to practice” in the state.

The Post Millennial reported, “According to Galveston County Constable Jimmy Fullen, Timothy Daniel Japhet was arrested and charged for the ‘smuggling of a human and resisting arrest’ in Kinney County, TX.”

Japhet was arrested on August 13th, and was held for six days before being released on a $40,000 bond. The Texan reported that the judge was charged with four counts of human smuggling. There were four men that he was allegedly smuggling in his vehicle from Mexico across the U.S. border.

The U.S. southern border has seen a massive influx of crime over the past two years, involving human and drug smuggling, because of the low-expulsion rates. Recent numbers from Border Patrol estimate recent numbers 5 million immigrants have illegally crossed into the U.S. since President Biden first took office. Border towns are overrun, and instead of supporting the justice system this Judge was appointed to serve, he decides to profit off of the chaos.

Unfortunately for him, no one is above the law.
