Since fall is upon us, I’ve written you all a note with some fall things I either love or might be loving this season. Who doesn’t appreciate a good list? Just leave your pumpkin spice lattes at the door.

  1. With fall comes spoopy szn. With spoopy szn comes the perfect vibe for movie watching and TV show binging. Some personal favorites I come back to are The Haunting of Hill House, American Horror Story (seasons two and three), and Hocus Pocus. It’s also that time of year when the darker movies come out. This fall I’m most excited for Dark Harvest and Don’t Worry Darling. Whether you live somewhere hot (like here in Arizona, where autumn means 80 degree weather) or if it’s about to get orange colored chilly where you are, the early sunsets of fall evenings make any night feel like the perfect time for watching something spoopy.

2. The second thing on my fall list is a solid book rotation, for the nights when you want to forgo screen time. I suggest making a reading list so you have the books on your nightstand or bookshelf looking all pretty and ready to read. Some books that have left me on the edge of my seat this year are A Flicker In the Dark by Stacy Willingham, The Overnight Guest by Heather Gudenkauf, and The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. Right on brand for a cozy, creepy fall evening read.

3. How can I talk about fall without mention of a wardrobe? Fall is the perfect time to pack up the swimsuits, like the ones I suggested to you earlier this summer… so long as you don’t live in perpetual summertime like I do. But you know, it does occasionally cool down in Arizona, which is why I am SO happy about the upcoming fall styles that I’m starting to see. Currently, I’m on the hunt for the perfect knee high slouchy boots. I’m also very interested in the cowgirl boot trend. I know, I’m not a cowgirl, but some of these looks serve the perfect fall vibes, and I’m here for all of it. Literally. Ballet flats are polar opposite, but they’re also on my list.

Plus, I don’t have to worry about rain and snow, so they are the perfect shoe to wear in Arizona autumn. I’ll be pairing these shoes with oversized shirts, sweater dresses, and men’s shirt vests – which is a trend I did not expect to be into but will be trying, for sure.

4. Number four on my list this fall: The biggest moment in music this year is about to happen. Do I have any chill about it? Not really. Am I talking about our queen Taylor Swift? Yes. October 21, 2022 the perfect fall soundtrack will grace big and little ears alike, and girls everywhere who didn’t have success this cuffing season will at least have a new heartbreak anthem.

5. Speaking of Taylor Alison Swift: Every fall, I bake her chai sugar cookie recipe and they never disappoint, which is why they’re number five on my list. They taste like all the things to love about fall: spice, warmth, and the smell of a seasonal candle. But Miss Swift is not the only Miss American with a signature recipe. If you’ve been here a while, then you likely know about my notorious chili recipe, aka the only way chili should be cooked and eaten – WITH spaghetti noodles. Trust me on this. I make chili with spaghetti noodles even when it’s 100 degrees out. It never fails. And if I’m not eating cookies or chili, then you know I’m having chicken and dumplings.

It’s fall, chickens! Live it up!
