A day in the life of our social media guru, Kylie.

In the last two diaries, I asked Producer Abigail how she was and tried to squeeze info about aliens out of Natalie (still need a nickname), but today I’m going to dive into The Voice of POPlitics, our intern Kylie.

Q: So Kylie, you sit next to me in the office, what’s that like?

A: There are ALWAYS snacks out and crumbs to go along with them. Everything is suuuuper pink. Pink scissors, pink blankets, pink stapler, pink pink pink…..
The whole room will be super quiet, and randomly you yell “OMG” or break out laughing, and everyone in the room turns to look at us.
Sometimes you just record random ASMR bits on your teeny tiny microphone, and I still don’t know how to feel about it…
It’s super gross when you take your dentures (Invisalign) out to eat, but I’m also jealous you’ll have perfect teeth soon.
Finally, you get so freaking cold, even in Arizona, that you not only have your pink blankets, you also have a little space heater to warm up your small area, and I think it’s the funniest thing.

Q: Hmm, you make many valid points there; I’m not sure if I should be offended. So anyways, tell the cuteservatives how you got involved with us at TPUSA?

A: I had been following POPlitics since it launched and had been trying to get a job at TPUSA for awhile. I had been looking for something that fit my skills and personality, but nothing was quite right.
As soon as I saw that POPlitics specifically was looking for an intern, I felt like it was meant to be. I loved POPlitics, love pop culture, and love pink.
I had been praying to God for the opportunity and trusting Him to do what was right for my life. I kept thanking Him for my job at Turning Point, and it actually manifested.
I went through 3 rounds of interviews to get to know everyone on the team and see if I would be a good fit.
After about a month, I was brought on and have loved it every day since.
Interview tip: do something to stand out against the other applicants. I sent cookies 😉

Q: That was so sweet! Literally! I feel like God led you to us! What has been your favorite part of working on POPlitics?

A: Either going shopping for photo shoots, where I get to pick out tons of cute clothes and accessories and play dress-up with you (Alex). OR, getting to come with you guys to SAS 2020 since most companies wouldn’t bring their intern along.
I got to room with Producer Abigail, and we all had such a blast filming our VLOG, our reels, and funny little moments.
We got to dress up and go out and see some of the biggest names in the conservative movement, like Tucker Carlson, Don Jr., and Dennis Prager! They were my absolute favorites!

Q: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve come across helping handle the POPlitics social media?

A: The weirdos who keep asking me for your feet pics… STOP ASKING.
We’re super thankful for Kylie and all she does for POPlitics and always keeping us up to date with the best pop culture news!
