“She’s such a ‘pick me.'”

“She wants to be white so bad.”

Those are just some of the taunts I’ve heard since I first began speaking out about my conservative beliefs. As I quickly learned, when a person belongs to a group the left believes they own (like women or Asians in my case) but they don’t buy into progressive victimhood, more often than not, the response is vicious.

It’s been about 7 years since I started making conservative content, and ironically, I’ve never faced more sexism than when I’ve condemned modern feminism, or more racism than when I’ve explained why white privilege is a myth.

I’m certainly not the only who’s noticed that the “tolerant” left is less than accepting when anyone dares to question their narrative, and it’s become a cliche by now to point out that “Well, maybe the progressives are the real bigots here.” And while it might be tempting to attribute the left’s attacks against the likes of conservative women and POC to plain old sexism or racism, I’ve come to see this particular kind of pushback as so much more.

Put simply, the left saves the big guns, the accusations of “internalized misogyny” or jeers of “Uncle Chan,” for the people they’re afraid of the most. And they fear conservative women and rightwing minorities because they’re living proof that our gender and skin color don’t need to define our politics, and that conservatism really is for everyone.

When it comes to preaching this message, and to letting you go people know that conservatism is for them, and that the left doesn’t own womanhood, that identity politics doesn’t need to define us, there is no one else out there putting in the work like TPUSA. I’m so thrilled to be working with them, and can’t wait to be part of reaching a new generation of empowered patriots.
