I am often asked by people, “how can I make a difference if I don’t have a huge following?”

The answer usually surprises people–your influence in your direct community, within your family & friends, on your college campus, or in your class typically makes a bigger impact than a social media influencer can make reaching thousands of people at once.

The one-on-one conversations you are able to have over coffee, debating with your professors, or conversing in Instagram comment threats could be the initial exposure someone in your life has to conservative ideas. It doesn’t take much–posting one video, asking one question in class, or talking about one subject with a friend–to set a spark that lights a fire of passion for liberty in someone else’s heart.

You are able to reach the people in your life directly, because they know and trust you. You aren’t a public figure, you aren’t separated by a screen. You do life together–and your values already impact their lives.

Don’t give up trying to make a difference in your community just because you think you aren’t reaching enough people. All it takes is one person at a time.
