A TPUSA National Field Program representative was ESCORTED BY POLICE out of a Pinellas County School Board meeting Tuesday, September 28th, 2021—and was banned from ever again returning to speak at Pinellas County School Board meetings.

TPUSA Field Representative and Pinellas County community member, Emmanuel Oramas, took to the podium about an hour into the Pinellas County School Board meeting and BLASTED the Pinellas County for TWO BIG concerns in Agenda Item 7.10

First, masked as “professional development training and materials,”  #22-961-058-PS/CM would approve $854,041.49.00 for the curriculum, Leader in Me® training materials from Franklin Covey Client Sales, Inc., which push equity and diversity training into professional development trainings—and in students’ classrooms. Oramas spoke on behalf of DOZENS of concerned parents who voiced their dissent to Critical Race Theory (CRT) into district budgets, which would be a direct violation of Florida’s ban on CRT in the public education system.

Second, budget item #22-961- 079-PS/CM would approve the purchase of a massive $234,000.00 software subscription from Learning Services International. Learning Services International’s iObservation software is a professional development and observation/evaluation software, responsible for funding “anti-racism” and other initiatives tied to far-Left organizations.

You can watch the full clips of both TPUSA National Field Representative, Emmanuel Oramas, speaking below. Michaela Schmidt, a TPUSA Faith Tampa area representative, addressed the school board prior to Oramas. When Oramas reaches the end of his allotted speaking time, he is abruptly cut off by the Pinellas County School Board. However, Oramas refused to be silenced on these important issues and continued speaking into a dead mic.

Off-camera, a police officer escorts Oramas out of the room and off district property. Oramas was then told that he could never return to Pinellas County district property, or would be charged with trespassing.

Eighteen speakers testified during the board meeting, an overwhelming majority addressing the concerning items in Agenda Item 7.10. Despite the turnout, the Pinellas County School Board voted on the consent of the agenda with a 6 to 1 vote.

According to TPUSA’s School Board Watchlist, the Pinellas County School Board meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month to discuss district agenda items. The district has drawn attention in recent weeks for its masking policies and conflict over the burying of CRT elements into district curriculum and policies.
