Rapper Travis Scott is being hit with a lawsuit after his Astroworld Festival in Houston, TX, left at least 8 people dead on Friday night.
Concertgoers broke into sheer panic and screamed for the rapper to stop performing as they were being pushed around in the mosh pit, fighting to come up for a breath of air. Ambulances were seen on the concert floor trying to get to injured people throughout the crowd while Scott continued performing.
The sold-out festival had an estimated 50,000 people in attendance, which resulted in several deaths as people surged toward the main stage during the performance. Among the 8 dead, the youngest victim was a 14-year-old student-athlete.
The newly filed lawsuit against Scott and concert production company, Live Nation claims “the disaster was the direct result of a motivation for profit at the expense of concertgoers’ health and safety and the encouragement of violence.”
Many witnesses have come out and said how they felt a demonic presence during Scott’s performance. Several attendees have taken to social media and have said they were experiencing a “concert in Hell.”
Fans and concertgoers have expressed concern with the rapper’s stage set and the symbolism involving the open portal, demons on Scott’s shirt, and even the concert theme: ‘See you on the other side.’
This tragedy was definitely preventable and shows the lack of care Travis Scott has for his fans and the staff members who stood by and did not act when people were calling for help.
God bless those who saved people’s lives that night and rescued them from being trampled to death. Obvious safety measures and procedures need to be re-examined, and people need to be held accountable for this disastrous tragedy.
