There’s been a lot of controversial news stories over the last week. Let’s take a look…

The White House has put the DHS’ newly formed “Disinformation Governance Board” on hold. After weeks of backlash by those on the right comparing the board to the “Ministry of Truth” from George Orwell’s 1984, the Biden Administration has decided to pause the board’s work. Nina Jankowicz, who initially was appointed to head the board, has resigned from her position. Take a look at how the new White House Press Secretary responded to questions about this:

Next up: The NBA has scheduled two preseason games to be held in the United Arab Emirates. You may remember over the last few years how the NBA has felt the need to comment on every social issue. They champion themselves as “defenders of human rights.” And yet, they’re perfectly willing to host games in a country where homosexuality is punishable by death.

Speaking of sports, the Governor of South Carolina has signed a bill that will require all student athletes to compete according to their biological sex—the sex on their birth certificates. South Carolina is now part of a growing number of states enacting similar laws with the primary effect of protecting female athletes from being dominated by men. To no surprise at all, the left is losing their minds over such legislation.

TIME recently released an article entitled, “Inside the Right-Wing Movement to Ban Trans Youth From Sports”, where TIME claims that conservatives pass these laws just as PR campaigns. In my opinion, it’s certainly not good PR to make women compete against men and call it equality. When it comes to sports, the right is far more willing to protect women athletes than the left is.
