For context, Aldous Huxley is the author of the world-renowned dystopian science fiction novel, “Brave New World” in which he (in hindsight) quite accurately depicts modern humanity.
“The surest way to work up a crusade in favor of some good cause is to promise people they will have a chance of maltreating someone. To be able to destroy with good conscience, to be able to behave badly and call your bad behavior ‘righteous indignation’ — this is the height of psychological luxury, the most delicious of moral treats.”
Aldous Huxley, Crome Yellow
In the event that this needs more explanation, what Huxley is saying is that humankind has a desire to gain and retain power. Human beings are designed in a way that advances self-preservation by asserting dominance. Maybe you think that’s a good thing, maybe not. But his argument is that it is how we tend to function.
The woke mob is defined almost exactly by the people to whom this quote applies. They use the psychological validation of righteousness to assert their dominance over those they disagree with. Huxley calls this the ‘height of psychological luxury’ and it seems to be exactly how the woke feeds its insatiable need to feel superior EVEN THOUGH leftist actions prove otherwise. This type of deception the woke plays on itself allows people to justify seemingly anything to advance their cause.
Scary.
