The newest addition to Turning Point USA’s Professor Watchlist is none other than Dr. Dorinda Carter Andrews from Michigan State University.
Dr. Andrews teaches racial justice and educational equity in the Michigan State College of Education and has given two TED Talks relating to CRT and racial gaps in education.
In an article for Hour Detroit, Dr. Andrews accuses conservatives of “gaslighting” for being against critical race theory. Dr. Andrews alleges conservatives “cry CRT” any time an educator teaches something from America’s history that puts them in a “bad light,” even if it’s true. She goes on to insinuate that conservatives don’t want educators teaching black history at all.
This is a complete lie.
Conservatives do not “cry CRT” because they don’t want our American history being taught. Rather, we want it taught correctly and with the intention to set each student up for success later in life. I remember in 5th or 6th grade learning about the Civil Rights Movement and slavery. Each lesson in class was taught accurately and always ended in an uplifting message that today in America, EVERYONE is equal, regardless of your skin color, what language you speak, your gender, or sexual orientation.
I dived further into this topic on TPUSA LIVE:
Dr. Andrews, a self-proclaimed “critical race theorist,” believes that it is unfair to expect the same achievement levels from minorities compared to white students. This outright racist and extremely disturbing ideology is a cancer to our education system and youth and must be called out.
Thank you to TPUSA’s Professor Watchlist for highlighting these radical Leftist professors indoctrinating our future generations and giving a platform for conservative students to voice their opinions and concerns.
